Mark is the President & CEO at the International Soap Box Derby – Leading a team of 10 full time and six part-time employees with a budget of $1.7 million, and operating more than 250 events yearly in an international company that is an 80-plus year iconic brand.
Mark has worked in the sports field for 35 years after attaining his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in NY and a Masters degree from the University of Akron in sport management.
His career encompasses 18 years with the Pro Bowlers Tour, with five serving as the Commissioner of the Tour; 10 years of owning/managing facilities; four years of sporting goods sales; and now President & CEO of the International Soap Box Derby.
Outside of work, Mark has been married to his wife Beth since 1986 and they have three children – Matt 28, Tom 26 and Joel 23. He enjoys working out, traveling, and volunteering at his church and in the community.
Since 2010, Mark has been teaching two sport management classes at the University of Akron, which he enjoys becuase he has the opportunity to assist the students in making the transition from student to the work force.
